BIC BLOG 6/19/21
short, sweet and bittersweet pretty much sums up this week’s Blog….
With both of our daughters resuming their college and post-college life in Chicago and NYC, tomorrow will be the first Father’s Day I’ve spent away from them. That certainly weighs heavy on my heart but it is balanced by just how extremely proud I am of both of them.
Now back to BIC, which is certainly a welcome and needed ‘distraction’. Michael Rozon and I did our weekly nite in SAINTinLA… and actually made some nice strides on a new idea. I wanted a track that sounded and felt like an opening song for this record (whether it ends up an EP or full-length), along the lines of ‘Plainsong’ from “Disintegration”. After 8 hours, I think we left with something that is grand.
And I have not received the vocals yet for tracks #3 and #4, both ladies have assured me that are hard at work on their parts. As I have often mentioned, this is one of my favorite parts of BIC …. the surprise of how a piece of music inspires and guides a singer! We are also planning to do some video tests next week on a green screen concept we are planning for ‘Orion’. Once director Tim Janssens, singer/lyricist Whitney Tai and I are confident in the concept, we will begin shooting the video … with plans of a late summer release!
Well … this one was quick as promised:). Now I plan to do a bit of reorganization on my home studio space (SAINT2), to be a bit more in line with my work flow …. and hopefully spark a few new songs ideas!
