BIC BLOG 5/6/23

Well… through the process of any of our video releases, there runs the gamut of emotions in the planning, the shoot, the edit, the excitement, the release, and the WTFCN (what the f*ck comes next)…

We released another video, our new single “Kiss Me (Goodbye)” featuring the talented and dapper Julian Shah-Tayler! As per our original mission, it is certainly different from our previous video Bloodletting !

Lots of thank you’s are indeed in order. First, Michael Rozon for the hours we spent in the studio writing and recording this, then dealing with deadlines as he prepared for his next tour. Fantastic work, as always. And to Julian for turning this piece of music into the infectious song it now is! Also to my long-time friend, drummer Pete Parada for propelling the track forward with his drumming! To my lovely wife, Tish and, of course, Dirk for always giving 100% to the video, and Vicente and his Industrialism Films crew. I’ve lost count as to how many videos we’ve now done together, but as always, fantastic work and absolute fun while shooting it! And a special shout-out to Ms. Eva Strangelove for her amazing performance!

The video would mean little to nothing if no one sees it, so big thanks to Spill Magazine for premiering the video! Also ReGen Magazine and Side-Line for their continued support! And, of course, to Ryan Martin and his Jammerizine. Click HERE to see his exclusive video interview with Julian and I, where we talk the song, what is goth (?) with other funny banter!

Also, to these amazing radio station/podcasts for playing our new single …. Nick Court (Darkness and Chaos). Andy and Lisa Jane (Andy Cousin Show), DJ Ava Vox, and The Sanctuary (HRH Radio). I’m sure there are others I may have missed, so thank you.

Finally, to our long-time publicist Shauna with Shameless Promotion PR for pulling this all together.

Here’s a few of the quotes for those of you who are adverse to clicking links!

“Memorable, whimsical, danceable and impeccably performed, this fab new offering just gets better due to the existence of a superb video, filmed and directed by Vicente Cordero of Industrialism Films. Don’t let the MBV-esque opening chords of the song fool you – here we have a balanced pleasurable mix of the easily accessible classic pop of Prefab Sprout and Aztec Camera, woven together with the infectious allure of early Smashing Pumpkins and The Mission UK. Also wait until after the 3-minute mark when Bowie-eque threads will give you goosebumps.” … Spill Magazine

‘Kiss Me (Goodbye)’ is a conception that highlights the styles of both artists while showing how great musicians can come together and put their individual stamps on something and make that something totally new and unique. Add to that the stellar cinematography of the music video and immersive feeling that video gives you and you walk away with a snarky smile on your face and a hook in your head” … Jammerzine

So what’s next? Michael and I started working on new music in SAINTinLA Studios. We have two tracks pretty set and I hope to start my ‘process’ of marrying them to the proper singer. Next week, we plan to dive into a new piece of music, too. Our plan is to have all of this culminate into a new BIC album by the end of this year, or early 2024. I have a name and cover planned already. “Kiss Me (Goodbye)” will certainly be included on this album … which, all I can say, right now is it will certainly be diverse :)

While our single is now out on all of those pesky streaming services, for those who still believe in owning music (even in the digital version), you can get yours HERE for about 1/3 the price of a small coffee. Also, for those who use Bandcamp … you can get it HERE! Many, many thanks for the support!
