“Originally written by Beauty in Chaos lynch-pin Michael Ciravolo and The Mission’s Wayne Hussey for the Storm Before The Calm album, what was an anthemic rocker of a track is here reimagined as a smooth, soulful and sensitive song, more in keeping with a sort of gothic-infused, cocktail bar, soul ballad, than the original foot-on-the-monitor groover. Cinthya Hussey brings just the right amount of seduction and spirit to the track and around her guitars pulse and chime, soar and serenade, roar and resonate, as the mood takes them.” ….. A wonderful excerpt from Dave Franklin’s review of our Rapid Reiteration version of ‘The Delicate Balance Of All Things”.
Well those kind words set this week off on the proverbial right foot! Also, I am thrilled to report that ALL orders of our Limited Edition ‘Out Of Chaos Comes…” vinyl are in transit across the pond as I type this! Still a few copies remain that includes Cinthya Hussey’s cover art poster, signed by both Hussey’s, Ashton Nyte, Curse Mackey, Kat Leon, Steven Seibold, Rafe Pearlman, Dirk Doucette, Michael Rozon and Tish & I. You can order your copy HERE!
Michael Rozon and I also ‘found’ the part that took try #3 to where it needed to be. ‘Heroes’ has always been one of my favorite songs ever, and after watching Tony Visconti’s ‘breakdown’ of the song (watch it here), it struck us how Robert Fripp’s E-bowesque guitar lines added that gorgeous haunting quality to the song. We took that approach and I broke out my trusty ebow (which was used extensively on ‘finding beauty in chaos’ with it’s ‘no synths rule’) and BAM … it added the needed haunting chaos to the beauty of the track. It was now ready to send to a singer that I have wanted to work with for a few years now. (No… not Shirley Manson!). I will take some time in my home studio tomorrow to try to develop a 4th idea that I have been kicking around so we can start our process this coming week!
As I hinted at last week, BIC Family HOLY WARS premiered their new ‘TV Dinner’ video! It was premiered by FORBES, of all places! - One of those songs that slaps you in the face in a good way. Smart, fast, furious, inspired, aggressive, literate and carrying a message, it forces you to listen, It grabs you by the throat, looks you right in the eye and says, "Pay attention, now, mother f**ker." Great description! See it HERE or below. Also check out what Ms. Kat Leon has to say in this insightful interview with our friend Tina Eves in American Songwriter.
