BIC BLOG 1/9/21
As our world still spins a bit out of control, I am attempting to put my energy into the positives. Michael and I did some nice work on the first new BIC song last weekend. After a couple of more day/nights … the track should be ready to send to one of the great female artists that have ‘signed on’ to be part of this. I am spending some time listening to their own work … seeing who’s, at least to my ears, voice should make this track complete. It is a bit of a different process this time. as we are sending the tracks a bit ‘sparser’ then we usually do… with the idea of leaving more ‘space’ and giving the singers more flexibility by giving them less melody-wise to subconsciously latch on to. This will also leave more room for us to add musically after getting their vocal track. It is all in its infancy right now … so I am excited to see how the first few songs develop.
I have been spending more time in my home studio (SAINT2), attempting to get some ideas in my head started. Sometimes I feel I am spending more time trying to learn programs as opposed to creating … but that is part of the process of a ‘project’ like BIC. I am determined to make it work … as Michael Rozon is still finishing up the next MINISTRY record and I want to hit the proverbial ground running when we get to jump in fully.
As I have mentioned, ‘Out Of Chaos Comes…’ is now available on most streaming platforms, including HERE ON SPOTIFY. I have also been highlighting songs, especially the tracks not among the 14 on the CD. I am really trying to embrace streaming as a ‘necessary evil’ moving forward … but I do ask that if you like what you hear (and this goes for any band/artist), please consider purchasing it in a physical or even digital format. I would really love nothing more than for BEAUTY IN CHAOS to continue to have our music on vinyl and CD formats. Our on-line store is HERE and from what I am told, 33.3 is still offering a crazy 4-CD SPECIAL (Finding Beauty In Chaos / Beauty Re-Envisioned / The Storm Before The Calm / Out Of Chaos Comes…) 33.3 Music Collective’s owner, Tim Perry, has told me he will be sending an update on the ‘Out Of Chaos Comes…’ vinyl delay today. Even though this is out of my control, I personally apologize for this deal. I hate this. I can say the test pressing sounds great and I do have all 100 signed cover art posters in my hands waiting to match it with the vinyl.
Many thanks to The RingMaster Review for a very insightful review of our new album HERE!
Also … I got to see the ‘almost final’ edit of our next video, and it is absolutely fantastic! I am going to keep an element of mystery on it for a bit longer as it will premiere later this month. I can say it is very different than ‘STRANGER’ … and from all of our other videos!!!
