BIC BLOG and SPOTLIGHT #13 - 'A KIND CRUELTY' (Sinistrality Mix) ft. CURSE MACKEY

2020, the year that was a dumpster fire for many is behind us. The page turns to 2021 with renewed hopes and dreams! After my self-imposed 2 month waiting period, ‘Out Of Chaos Comes…’ is now up on most streaming services, including Spotify. Please listen, share, add to playlists, all that streaming stuff! .. and if you enjoy what you hear; BUY!

Also, wanted to share the new video from a friend, Stella Wembley HERE! Stella has also ‘signed on’ to be part of the next BIC evolution. I have also been doing a ‘recap’ of all of our videos, probably as much for myself as for others! If you haven’t seen them, check it our HERE. Some insight and behind the scenes pics too. So now on to the next, ‘A Kind Cruelty’ (Sinistrality Mix)

One silver lining of the 2020 lockdown for BIC was that when I reached out to producers and artists about doing remixes for the new album …. many jumped in quickly, eager to do something creative. One of them, Tim Palmer, graciously did three for the release! Tim has always been one of my favorite producers, and all 3 of his remixes are stellar! Since videos are the ‘face’ of BIC, we wanted of course promote ‘Out Of Chaos Comes…’ with a video. Covid certainly made filming videos a lot more challenging. After Tim sent his ‘Sinistrality’ mix to Curse and I, Curse asked for the music tracks to use for a live stream concert he as going to do. He did a great job with it … lots of cool visual effects and textures. It gave me the idea of using some of his footage to build a video around. I got with Vicente (who directed the original ‘A Kind Cruelty’ video) and we thought we could do something cool. So he, Tish and I set to filming some additional footage, using the metallic paint booth at Schecter. Vicente had a new lens that added some interesting textures and effects, combined with smoke and moving lights. I wanted to make sure we were able to show Slink (Simon Hinkler from The Mission) in it, as he does a very cool guitar solo on this remix. I had the idea of Tish holding an iPad and Vicente said he could ‘drop Simon in’ …. The Mission was very cool about allowing us to grab Simon’s footage from their ‘Blood On The Road video to us. (Many thanks!!!). As usual. Tish looked amazing and rocked it hard. Hell … the infamous ‘horse head guy’ made another appearance too! I do really like this video, as I think it captures the vibe of Tim’s remix, and thankfully Curse’s footage spurred us to build around it, as opposed to just revamping the original. In the end I think both videos are really good and different from each other …. and is certainly a ‘polar opposite’ of ‘Stranger’.

See the video below and some behind the scenes pics!

Here’s to a better 2021!
