BIC BLOG 7/11/20
Finally sitting down to do a quick BIC week recap as the temp here nears a cozy 95*, after watching a wonderful Facebook Live concept by my dear friend Ashton Nyte. What a great album ‘Waiting For a Voice’ is and I urge everyone to support him and order your copy and his book HERE!
Similar week to last week here in BIC world. So happy to get to spend time last nite in SAINTinLA Studio with Michael Rozon and a bottle of red!! We are working on a reimagined version of ‘The Delicate Balance of All Things’ .. with some very cool new elements and a surprise or two. It really started to come into focus last night!
Speaking of ‘surprises’; I was blessed to get confirmation that two amazing artists, whose bands take up a lot of space in my record collection, have graciously agreed to lend their talents to our in-process remix album. More on this as things get closer. We are definitely planning on some videos to support this endeavor.
And we are not brushing our new album, ‘The Storm Before The Calm’ aside.. as I am immensely proud of this record. We are getting closer to finalizing the final of the 3 videos from this record; ‘Stranger’. It is a very important song. Just as Storm’s ‘there is always a light’, I think ‘I’m a stranger to myself’ will be another important lyric in BIC world. This beautiful song, written with the crazy-talented Kat Leon, will be the spring board to the next ‘studio’ BIC album … in 2021 :). Yeah … I think that far ahead :). Hopefully we will unleash this gorgeous video very soon.
As we near the 60 day mark of the release of ‘the storm before the calm’, I am coming up to my dreaded self-imposed threshold to release this record on streaming. I have not been tightlipped about my opinion on streaming, but sadly it is an (almost) necessary evil in today’s world. I do ask that anyone who has enjoyed what we do to please get yourself a copy in any or all formats HERE, as I’d love for our label, 33.3 MUSIC COLLECTIVE, to continue to make our music available in physical formats. Without that, this journey would be far less fun and alas, much shorter.
Much Love,
MC X
