Q: I am a photographer and I love seeing BIC use cool photos in many ways. How would you say you are influenced by photography?

A: This is an interesting question! I am certainly blessed to have several friends that are indeed amazing photographers. I would say that I am influenced by certain photos. On ‘FBIC’, my friends Greg and Sarah sent me a lot of photos of abandoned buildings that they shoot in Pennsylvania . Those pics certainly inspired the cover of our debut album… which to me perfectly exemplified both beauty and chaos. Rick Parent, my dear friend who lives on a ranch in Texas, contributed not only the gate-fold photo on the vinyl version of ‘FBIC’, but also the cover of ‘the storm before the calm’. Both photos, shot from his deck; to me that jumped out as perfect for what we wanted. Nick Court, a DJ friend at UK’s Revolution Radio, also has a great photo eye and two of his photos will be used on the new record. I guess the best way I can describe is it is a case of ‘i know it when I see it’. I have a folder on my computer now with two photos (actually one is a painting), that will almost certainly be the front and back cover of our next ‘remix’ release. They also have inspired the probably name. With BIC not being a typical band, visuals are really important to us. I also put Anabel DFlux and Industrialism Film’s Vicente Cordero as key components to the public face of BEAUTY IN CHAOS.
