MONDAY Q&A 2/3/20
Q: BIC videos are very distinctive & creative, and beautifully made - you can see they're important to the whole project. So I wondered were there any particular music videos / bands whose videos you especially admire as a music fan?
A: Thank you for your kind words! Yes, without being a typical band or playing live, the videos are sort of the ‘face’ of Beauty In Chaos. I work real hard with Vicente Cordero and Leslie Gladney of Industrialism Films to make make each of our 8 videos unique. I hope we hit that mark again on our new ‘A Kind Cruelty” video too! As for other videos, wow …. I am going to date myself as I am really not sure how many of newer videos I have seen since the heyday of MTV! Off the top of my head, U2’s ‘New Years Day’, Billy Idol’s ‘white wedding’, TSOM ‘This Corrosion’ and The Cure’s ‘lullaby’ always faves. I also think Garbage’s ‘why do you love me’ was really done well. As for now, I probably only really watch videos by our BIC family …. both Ashton Nye and Evi Vine’s recent videos, besides being great songs, are also very cinematic. I guess that is what catches my eye in a video. We are also working with a really great singer Kat Leon from Holy Wars. Her videos with the band and her solo stuff are really good; especially when you know, that like ourselves, has to be accomplished on a limited budget. I look forward to putting our minds together on a future video collaboration.
