BIC BLOG 2/22/20

Well I originally intended today to be writing about the release of ‘the storm before the calm’ today but many of you know that the proverbial ghosts-in-the-machine hit our SAINTinLA Studio last month; ultimately forcing us to delay the release until 5/22/20. Not to be derailed, and a believer that things happen for a reason… we premiered “A Kind Cruelty” our second video/single from our forthcoming album. This upbeat, almost anthemesque track features Curse Mackey on vocals. As with all of our videos, we really tried to make it different from the others. On the surface this one is dark and brooding … but there are certainly some tongue-in-cheek elements, just enough to inject an element of fun. We really hope you enjoy both the song and video!

Big thanks to the great people at the mighty post-punk.com for premiering our video HERE, even if the ‘uber-goth’ label as caused me a bit of grief. That is certainly okay, as I have plenty of middle fingers!

We also sincerely appreciate our friends at JAMMERZINE, OUTBURN and ReGEN MAGAZINE for their continued support. Jammerzine’s Ryan Martin also added an interesting Q&A and lots of photos so please check it out.

As for the new song and video; we again worked with our friends from Industrialism Films. The video was shot in sort of a cool undisclosed ‘bunker’ giving this one a different feel than it’s predecessors. Our editor, Leslie Gladney pulled double-duty, also appearing in the video as the ‘vampire girl’. We also had two stunning fire-dancers, Sinder and Lilian Sin. I’ll post a pic of the band and cast at the end here!

Curse Mackey did a fantastic job on this song. Please make sure to check out his lyrics in the info below the video on YouTube. We will certainly add them to our site as we revamp it for the debut of ‘TSBTC’. Curse has spent time with the legendary industrial band Pigface as well as My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. He also just released is first solo release ‘Instant Exorcism’.. a beautiful dark-industrial journey that I urge you to get HERE.

For those who don’t want to wait until the album release, we have decided to make a digital single of ‘a kind cruelty’ available on our BIC STORE.

I had proudly announced the Wayne Hussey has added a version of ‘the long goodbye’ to his new live CD with The Divine. Those who were at the show can attest to just how beautiful they performed this song. The CD; ‘Wayne Hussey and The Divine - Live at the Yellow Arch’ can be ordered HERE. Mr. Hussey was also kind enough to insist on making both our our BIC CDs, ‘Finding Beauty In Chaos’ and ‘Beauty Re-Envisioned’ available at The Mission’s upcoming United European Party tour dates. These will be signed by both Wayne and yours truly. In fact, check the photos to follow to see his smiling face with sharpie in hand! I have been told that a few copies may also be available post tour in the Mission Store for those who can not attend the shows.

Well. that’s enough from me! Michael Rozon and I are back in the studio tomorrow to continue the mixing of the new album while discussing what’s next!
