BIC BLOG 2.15.20
Sitting down to do my weekly ‘recap’ of our BIC week listening to Nick Court’s wonderful ‘Darkness & Chaos’ radio show on Revolution Radio featuring my dear friends Ashton Nyte and Wayne Hussey! Lots of great Mission and Awakening tracks, each with their stunning solo works as well as their BIC collaborations! There is even going to be a sneak-peak-so-to-speak of Ashton’s new BIC track ‘the outside’. Though not the final or mastered mix, I promised Nick he would be able to give his listeners the first listen. I hope you enjoy!!!
Tish and I did get away from the LA rat-race to Big Sur for a few day’s to celebrate our 21st Anniversary last weekend thru Wednesday. Little or no internet was strange yet liberating! Lots of coffee and campfires … and I did manage to get inspired to start, what I hope will be new BIC songs.
With Michael Rozon deep in recording the next Ministry record, our studio time has been harder to come by. Knowing this album was looming made our studio computer/protools destruction more disruptive. That said, we are back in SAINTinLA tomorrow and should not have any issues finishing to allow us to meet my now proclaimed May 22nd release date for ‘the storm before the calm. I pray I don’t regret announcing this!!!
In the meantime, I am busy as the proverbial beaver working with Industrialism Film’s Leslie Gladney on editing our next video/single ‘a kind cruelty’. With the above mentioned album delay, I was adamant about getting this video released on our initial album release day of February 21st. More details of the premiere to come real soon!
Also this week, another one of those oft-referenced ‘surreal BIC’ moments happened. Wayne Hussey announced the release of Wayne Hussey & The Divine - Live at Yellow Arch album. A simply gorgeous version of ‘the long goodbye’ is featured on the 14-song CD version! Wayne’s voice has never sounded better and The Divine’s interpretation of the song is stunning. I still get chills when Michael Rozon’s string arrangement comes in on our ‘Au Revoir’ version … and hearing the Divine perform it is nothing short of amazing. I was privileged enough to hear the full record last week, and to say this is a must-have record is an understatement. Order yours HERE! For those who will get to see The Mission on their upcoming European Tour, remember there will be limited copies of our ‘finding beauty in chaos’ and ‘beauty re-envisioned’ singing by Mr. H himself and yours truly. I think a few copies may be available in the Mission Store for those who can’t attend a show.
Finally, as we near the release of our new album, we will be revamping our merch designs, so if there is something that you have had your eye on, you might want to get it as it may go away in lieu of some new designs! Visit the BIC STORE HERE.
Much love. Be Kind…
