BIC BLOG 12.21.19

Chock-filled week here for sure. Michael Rozon and I have spent many hours in the studio recording and mixing the songs for ‘the storm before the calm’! We finally got the vocals recorded for a track now called “temple of desire”, which, at first listen, strays a bit from the other songs, but on further listens, fits perfect in a hypnotic dark romantic way. While it is the most synth-laden song on this record, there are some interesting Ebow/Gizmatron textures intertwining with the songs odd alternating minor/major chords. Watching Mr. Rozon glue together the pieces of my sonic puzzle is a thing of beauty, and I’ll continue to yell from the highest mountain that this guy’s skills are nothing short of world-class. I am blessed to have him as part of BIC. Still lots more to do and we are up against a pressing deadline, but I am loving what I am hearing!

Earlier this week I got to visit KXLU 88.9 FM radio as a guest of Tony Knox and his No More Heroes’ show. I even got to bring my wife and our youngest daughter along. We had a blast and got to play not only some BIC tracks, but also some songs by our expanding BIC family … Ashton Nyte, Evi Vine, Ummagma, Holy Wars and Silence In The Snow. Tony was great run and it was so refreshing to see a radio station still spin vinyl! I also got to meet former Morrissey guitarist Alain Whyte. Great lad that makes some very cool music. Be sure to check him out.

I’m still wrestling with the concept of putting out vastest single, “The Delicate Balance Of All Things” out on those streaming sites. You know the ones that pay the artist about $0.00000000004 per play! Still struggle accepting that its a necessary evil. Til then, see and hear it below!
