BIC BLOG 11/2/19
With our daughters still away at college, it seems our life is wrapped up around football and finishing the new BIC album. With both the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers on a bye week, I have had this weekend circled on our calendar to getaway for a few days with the pups to the ocean. Both Tish and I find the ocean energizing, calming and rejuvenating …
During the week, Michael Rozon and I worked a few days getting ‘the delicate balance of all things’ mixed. We are real close, and I really love how this song … penned with Mission main-man Wayne Hussey, is coming along. I think it overall captures the ‘feel and tone’ that I’m seeking for our new album .. and will make a great debut track.
Fighting with my lack of ability to totally ‘unplug’ .. and knowing the deadlines I have set for the single, video and album … I am working on trying to cobble together a concept for this new video. Unlike the other BIC videos, this one started with some footage of Wayne singing in the studio during his visit in August to shoot our ‘20th Century Boy’ and ‘The Long Goodbye’ videos. Maybe this one will be concept-less?
Rarely do I go against my beliefs and principals … but in the case of streaming services vs non-streaming services, I have decided to allow ‘beauty re-envisioned’ to appear on Spotify and whatever other streaming platforms. Everyone that gave their time and talents to do these remixes deserves to be heard beyond our BIC family. So HERE it is; please share and make playlists with, ect. Again, I implore you if you hear and like something on Spotifly or Apple Music ,,, BUY it from the artist. This goes a long way for them to continue to make music … especially physical releases!
Finally, if you haven’t already seen this … please check out this new version of ‘everyday’s halloween’! Al and company recut their MINISTRY classic which was recorded and mixed masterfully by BIC’s own Michael Rozon !
