BIC BLOG 12/31/24
as the curtain drops on 2024, it seems the perfect time to take a look back at the ‘year in BIC’!
After Michael Rozon and I spent the first half of 2024 in our SAINTinLA Studio; we released the video/single “Diving For Pearls” featuring Wayne and Cinthya Hussey on June 4th. This single was followed up by our 4th full length album on July 24th, “Dancing With Angels”. This 8-song release, with its gorgeous cover art courtesy of Maren Platzhoff, featuring a unique blend of BIC alumni and some incredible new members of our growing BIC Family. Michael and I sincerely appreciate all of your heart, soul and talents that made this record possible! The CD and Digital versions also included the ‘HALO’ musical interludes that sonically ‘join’ the songs. It is still my hope that everyone would give ‘Dancing With Angels’ one complete uninterrupted listen. We followed up the release with three additional videos… “Holy Ground” ft. Patrik Mata of Kommunity FK fame, “Made Of Rain”, which we are blessed to have Ashton Nyte back, and the most recent “Echoes And The Angels'“ which introduces Leo Luganskiy to our BIC Family. Technicalities aside, we did release the video/single “Kiss Me (Goodbye)” ft. Julian Shah-Tayler in May 2023, and this ear-worm of a song also appears in a slightly different version on ‘Dancing With Angels” … giving us videos for 5 of the 8 songs! Not too shabby :)
A bit outside of BIC, Mr. Rozon recorded, mixed and co-produced MINISTRY’s ‘Hopiumforthemasses’ and the highly anticipated ‘Squirrely Years’ (coming 2025). He’s also currently working with Al Jourgensen on the next (and final?) Ministry album along with Paul Barker. I had the opportunity to join my old bandmates HUMAN DRAMA for two shows in Mexico City in October.
So what’s up in 2025 for BIC? Well what has become our norm, we are following up ‘Dancing With Angels’ with its re-envision companion! I still love turning the keys to the BIC sports car over to a growing cast of producers, dee-jays and artists to ‘re-imagine’ the songs as they hear ‘em! This album is complete, and Mr. Rozon will be doing the final mastering next week. Since this album is indeed ‘connected’ to ‘Dancing With Angels’, Ms. Maren Platzhoff has again provided us with some stunning paintings. ‘Signs In The Heavens / Reality Upside Down’ will be released on 2/5/25 (or 5/2/25 for our Euro-BIC Family! We have filmed and are currently in the editing process of a ‘double-feature’ video to premiere along with the album’s release. These are two ‘bonus’ cover tracks that are included and are intertwined with the album’s title. At least two additional videos are planned by mid-2025. As per usual, BIC rarely rests, and I plan to start some creative nights in SAINTinLA’s room #2 this January/February…. with a host of strange tuned guitars, new sonic-gadgets and drum loops to see what comes next.
I do need to thank BIC alum Kevin Kipnis for helping get our new ProTools computer set up and running, Dan at UA Audio for the amazing plug-ins that are on everything we create and for the great people at SE, Vanguard and Austrian Audio for some truly amazing microphones for our studio! We promise they are being put to good use!
Also, a big thanks to Shauna (Shameless Promotional PR) and all of the journalists that took the time to write about our album. We take NONE of this for granted!.
And to my beautiful family for their undying support for letting me spend the time and money it takes to do Beauty In Chaos.
