Q: For most artists, originality is preceded by a phase of learning and, often, emulating others. What was this like for you: How would you describe your own development as an artist and the transition towards your own voice?
A:I was far more influenced by guitarists with style and swagger than the technical wizards. Johnny Thunders, Marc Bolan and Mick Ronson are not mentioned among the ‘greats’, but they sure had a unique sound that I was instantly drawn to. Sometimes I wonder if these early influences stunted my musical growth, but, in all honesty, I think it helped me develop my own sound and style.” …. excerpt from ‘FIFTEEN QUESTIONS’ interview. Read ‘em all HERE.

I had hoped our as of yet unnamed Track 4 would have been ready to send off to a singer after our long session last week, but sometimes you chance an idea for a few hours and it hits a dead end. The track is still fantastic IMO, so I am confident after MR and I get back on it next week, it will be ready!

As soon as we get the vocals back for tracks 3 and 4, we will set-up to add some live drums to blend in, and then add a bit more chaos to the beauty, or beauty on top the chaos where needed. Still considering making ‘Lifting the Veil’ (the title that keeps ringing in my head) an EP, with the 4 tracks and a possible re-mix or alt version or two. This certainly does not negate the other ladies I have been in contact with about being part of the next incarnation of BIC, but these 4 tracks seem to ‘fit’ sonically and stylistically …. which would allow an open sonic palette for the next songs. Hopefully, these all culminate into a full album. The EP concept is appealing as with the last album, ‘Out Of Chaos Comes…’ being remixes, my impatience is telling me to release new BIC material ASAP! :)

Also, just saw the ‘mood' board’ from the director that we plan to use for the next video… seems we are on a good track and I would love to have this video/single for “Orion” featuring Whitney Tai out by mid-summer!
