'Out Of Chaos Comes...' video Flashback #1 - "A Kind Cruelty"
With 'the ‘Out Of Chaos Comes…’ vinyl finally shipping, I thought I would be interesting to take a quick look back at the videos from some of the remixes on this record.
The first video/single was Tim Palmer’s ‘SINISTRALITY MIX’ of A KIND CRUELTY, which features Curse Mackey. With the Covid lockdown in full effect, we had to think outside the box to be able to pull off a video, especially with it being impossible for Curse to travel here from Austin. He had been doing a few online live shows and did a real cool version of ‘A Kind Cruelty’. He used lights and other images to really make it visual. We where able to use that footage to build around. We did a simple shoot at inside the Schecter Guitar paint booth … with the metal walls adding to the industrial vibe of this remix. Vicente Cordero (who has done most of our videos) was behind the camera with Tish and I doing our thing. The Mission’s Simon Hinkler graciously recorded a fantastic guitar solo for this version, so we came up with the idea of Tish holding an Ipad and Vicente cobbled in some images of Slink from the Mission’s Blood On The Road video (which the band kindly allowed us to use). We also raided our video from the song’s original version which appears on ‘The Storm Before The Calm’, using a few select bits … including our ‘fire girls’! … and the infamous ‘horse head guy’ makes an appearance again!!
