MONDAY Q&A 8/17/20
Q: I was lucky to hear the new ‘tower of strength 2020’ on the radio and I listened to Wayne on a podcast talking about how it came about. He mentioned some artists did not agree to be part of it? I find that hard to believe and I thought you might know what those where ?
A: It seems radio stations are indeed starting to support this, which is so very important. The key this is that listeners do indeed buy a version … as the ultimate goal is to help with all of the charities we selected and to honor the front line heroes. Wayne was brilliant and his usual witty self on the podcast and Cynthia also sounded lovely. To me, it is not important who said no or didn’t reply.. but those who said yes and gave their time and talents for all the right reasons. I am sure that whoever did not chose to be involved had a good reason, and if they didn’t and it was ego or whatever … F ‘em. Words can’t describe how honored and proud I am to be a small part of this along side these artists I have great respect for. Not every artist, especially in our ‘age demographic’ has the ability or is interested in recording at home. That said, Billy Duffy found an innovative way to get his guitar on the track! I guess if there is a true will, you can find a way. So, no dirt from me, but a virtual hug to all that are part of making this happen.
