BIC FLASHBACK #1 - 'STORM'

So - here’s the song and video that started this BIC train a rollin’ ! ‘STORM’ featuring Ashton Nyte.

This is such a key song to what BEAUTY IN CHAOS is. First, it not only gave me the confidence that the first record, “finding beauty in chaos” and beyond could happen, it was the start of a great friendship with Ashton. This friendship and musical collaboration has lead to several more beautiful (in my humble opinion) songs …’ Bloodless and Fragile, ‘Finding Beauty In Chaos’ and ‘The Outside’.

Ashton’s lyrics on ‘Storm’ are the building blocks of what BIC is; especially the line …’there is always a light’.

Doing this video was really special, as it was the first public look at BIC and also my first time having a big part of what a videos final outcome would be. Ashton had worked on an MGT video with Vicente Cordero, so he brought him in to direct this. This too lead to a new friendship, as Vicente has directed many of our BIC videos and will certainly do more in the future!

With the video ‘team’ set we decided on the theme of temptations - as you will see the temptations of infidelity, consumerism, Satan and gambling. Highlighting the all import line of ‘there is always a light’, the video ends with Ashton opening metal door leading to the sunlight and clarity. The video is also inter-cut with some cool performance footage featuring my wife, Tish Ciravolo and drummer Dirk Doucette; both who appear not only on the albums but many of our BIC videos.
