MONDAY Q&A 7/9/20

Q; With so many remixes on ‘Out Of Chaos Comes…’, do you have a personal favorite?

A: That’s a tough one. I actually gave the full 27 tracks a listen though this Saturday while I was doing some much needed clean-up and reorganizing in my home studio. Out the gate, my favorite has been Tim Palmer’s ‘Rapid Reiteration Mix’ of ‘The Delicate Balance Of All Things’. Tim added some really wonderful touches and Cinthya’s voice is absolutley stunning. I respect and admire the work that everyone put into their remixes. As with ‘Beauty Re-Envisioned’, my personal favorites seem to be the remixes that have the most new elements introduced. I love hearing what someone else adds over a chord progression, etc; whether it is in concert with the original part or fully replaces it. I know my ‘favorite list’ will revolve, but on this weekend’s listen the two remixes that stuck out to me where Roman Marisak’s ‘The Outside’ (Street Mix) and Julian Shah-Tayler’s 11th hour addition of ‘The Delicate Balance Of All Things’.

Roman did a great remix of ‘Bloodless And Fragile’ on our previous record, so I knew to expect something great again from him. His voice to add the female harmonies of Charlie Kennedy was brilliant, along with the fantastic, almost ‘Save A Prayer-esque’ synth line on the outro.

I am happy Julian responded late as opposed to never to be part of this record, as I love his interpretation of ‘the delicate balance…’. Wonderful musical and vocal additions in my opinion. Wayne really enjoyed this one too. It is track #27, so I urge everyone not to miss it!
