honestly it feels a bit strange to not be in the studio or shooting a video today, as that has sort of been the norm for the past 10+ weeks as we finished up the album and shot multiple videos. I am told that the downtime is a good thing,…. and I am sure it is in many ways. Now there is silence, but lots of ‘moving pieces’ to do as we are a little over 2 weeks from the July 24th release of ‘Dancing With Angels’. Filling time with working with 33.3 Music with the album details for our website. If you haven’t seem the details (lyrics, artists quotes and insights, etc), you can get an idea of the undertaking by browsing through our past releases HERE.

I am also working to get all needed assets in the hands of our long time press agent Shameless Promotional PR, who will be co-ordinating interviews and reviews for the upcoming video and album releases. All necessary, but more than a bit ‘clerical’. Also for this record, I have enlisted the help of a friend that I have met through Human Drama to help in Mexico, which is a country that the band is extremely popular in and I absolutely adore the people’s passion for music. I have been blessed to have performed there many times over the past two+ decades and he is helping to spread the BIC word in his country. I did a string of Zoom interviews last week with Mexican press…. one which you can see later in this blog.

Also, in typical BIC fashion of putting the cart before the horse, well in this case WAY before, we have sent ‘stems’ (ie: the audio tracks to the songs) to many producers to ‘re-envision’ for what has become our modus operandi … a follow-up remix album to "Dancing With Angels’. A bit strange to hear re-envisoned versions before the release, but I do love this element of BIC. I do plan to have my hands in at least one, if not two re-envision with Mr. Rozon, AND there is a distinct possibility of adding a ‘title track’ (yes, we have a name set for this hopefully-by-the-end-of-the-year release). Yeah, BIC rarely rests :)

All of this is just dandy, but what about the album you may ask? As with ALL of our releases, 'Dancing With Angels’ will be available in the what we consider, the way music is meant to be heard… physical formats. 12” Vinyl and Compact Disc. The CDs are set to be in our hands BEFORE 7/24, so will began shipping that day. No pre-order will be necessary. The ‘deluxe’ CD version will include the 8 tracks AND the ‘HALO’ interludes that I have mentioned throughout the process of making this album. This will make this a massive sonic journey, one that I hope each of you will take uninterrupted at least once. This version of the album will NOT be available on streaming services, only the standard 8-song version. Confused yet? Now to the vinyl, which will be pressed on a beautiful multi-colored platter that will hopefully tie in beautifully with Ms. Maren Platzhoff’s stunning cover painting. Sadly, vinyl pressing time is a lot longer than CD, so we will not have the vinyl until the middle of August. Not the news I wanted to hear or share … just the nature of the process. With that, we are discussing with 33.3 about the possibility of doing vinyl pre-order. While BIC and 33.3 hate the idea of holding anyone’s money, many of you have asked…. as we are going to include two (2) signed posters (hand-signed by featured artists) with the first 100 copies. So there lies the ‘pre-order’ dilemma. Details will come over the next few days, and yes we are working diligently to overcome some logistics to have both the Vinyl (including some of the initial 100) and CDs available to ship from Europe, as we are acutely aware and disheartened by the outrageous postages costs. As if there needs to be another detriment to owning music in physical formats. We do sincerely appreciate our BIC Family who support our music in this manner.. I should add that a full digital version (including HALOs) will be included and sent on 7/24/24 with all vinyl and CD purchases!
